Graphic elements in Web layouts

When you export a Web layout, the following objects are converted to pictures in a format suitable for viewing on the Web:

  • Boxes containing imported pictures
  • Lines
  • Text on a path
  • None boxes (Item > Content > None)
  • Empty boxes
  • Tables for which Item > Modify > Table > Convert Table to Graphic on Export is checked

You can control this conversion on the Export tab in the Modify dialog box.

You control export options for pictures, raster text boxes, and other graphic elements on the Export tab in the Modify dialog box.

To configure a graphic element for export:

  1. Choose Item > Modify and go to the Export tab.
  2. Choose an option from the Export As drop-down menu. The options include GIF, JPEG, SWF, and PNG. The options beneath this menu change depending on which format is selected.
  3. To indicate a target directory for the exported picture file, enter a value in the Export to field.
  4. Enter a short description or a name for the picture in the Alternate Text field.
